We understand that circumstances can make it difficult to pay your utility bill. If your account becomes past due, here’s what you need to know and how we can help.

When is a bill considered past due?

Utility bills are due 20 days after the billing date.

What happens if you don’t pay?

  • Friendly Reminder – Late Payment Notice: Sent after the due date if payment has not been received.
  • Disconnection Notice: If payment is still not made, you will receive a notice with a specific shut-off date.
  • Service Disconnection: If payment is not received by the shut-off date your service will be disconnected.

Reconnection hours and fees

Reconnection Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM incurs the regular reconnection fee.

If your service is disconnected and you request reconnection outside normal business hours (or on weekends/holidays), additional fees will apply.

To avoid extra charges and delays, make payment or arrangements before the shut-off date during normal hours.

Fees and deposits:

  • Late Fee: Applied to past due balances.
  • Reconnection Fee: Charged if service is disconnected and must be restored.
  • After-Hours Fee: Additional charge for reconnections outside regular hours.
  • Deposit Requirement: A deposit may be required if your account has a history of late payments or disconnection.

How to avoid disconnection:

  • Pay Online: Log in to myaccount.lovgov.org to check your balance and for fast, secure payment.
  • Call Us: Contact Utility Billing at 970-962-2111 to discuss payment arrangements.
  • Request Extensions: Contact Utility Billing at least one business day before your shut-off date to explore options.
  • Consider payment assistance programs

Important notes

Payments made after hours or on weekends may not post until the next business day.

Returned checks (including e-Checks) will incur a fee and may result in loss of check privileges.
